Hi guys😃

I’m sorry I have not been posting lately, but I am in grade 6! I really enjoyed last year’s summer and I hope you did too. Some things that I did during summer were:

playing outside

going to Canada’s Wonderland

eating ice cream

reading

going to Mount Tremblant

and more!

I really hope you liked your summer and I will try to post more often. Bye!💛

Gardening

One thing I like to do at home is gardening. I like gardening because after you work hard, your work will turn into a masterpiece you can be proud of. I also love any kind of flower or tree, so this is the hobby for me!!! I like helping out in the garden, picking out weeds, watering the plants and planting plants. Maybe you can try gardening and you will see why I like it!

A great blog

I decided to nominate Helaina’s blog because I thought she put a lot of thought into her posts and I like the colors of her blog. Her background makes the writing so easy to see and I love how she put a pet on her blog too.

Come see her great blog at  http://helainas.global2.vic.edu.au/

STOP IDLING for the sake of OUR FUTURE

Idling_Infographic[1]      Idling is when someone leaves the car engine running, even when they don’t go anywhere. It is one of the major sources of pollution for our environment, poisoning the air that we breathe with harmful gases.

Idling has been shown to increase the risk of asthma, allergies, heart and lung disease, cancer and even autism. Kids are even more affected than adults, because they breathe in more air per pound of body weight. Unfortunately, a lot of idling happens near schools.

Idling is damaging your car’s engine and is also waisting more gas. Then we will have to use our money to fix the cars and to buy even more gas. Did you know that right now, people in China and Japan are breathing in some of the highest levels of polluted air in the world, in part because so many drivers are idling in those countries?!

Many people don’t even care about this issue. Do you want to stop the idling? I do! Because I care! I care about our future on Planet Earth! If you want to help stop the idling, here’s what you can do:

1. If you’re cold while waiting in the car, bring a sweater with you instead of turning on the engine.

2. If you’re too hot, open the car windows and drink some water instead of turning on the air conditioner.

3. Turn off the car engine if you’re waiting to pick-up somebody, especially if you pick-up your kids from school.

4. Avoid going to drive-throughs > just park your car and walk inside the restaurant.

If you follow these tips, you will be helping to cut down pollution. You can learn more about this cause by going onto these websites:

Remember, each and every one of us is part of the solution! We can all do our part to protect the air that we breathe! Let’s help STOP IDLING!

My scooter

image  I love to ride my scooter all around the neighbourhood. I also like doing tricks on it. I got this scooter as a gift from my parents on my 9th birthday. I really enjoy how fast it allows me to ride on it. Sometimes I ride it to the playground nearby or along the creek that runs through our neighbourhood. Riding my scooter is so much fun and it also helps me stay physically fit.

Getting ready for school

1. What time do you normally get up for school?

I get up at 8:00am.

2. What do you normally have for breakfast?

I always have milk for breakfast with either cereals or toast and sausages or toast and eggs.

3. How do you get to school?

Sometimes I walk and other times by car.

4. How long does it take to get to or from school?

It takes about 15 minutes walking and 5 – 10 minutes by car, depending on the traffic.
